Pastor Pruitt graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology from Florida Baptist, a Masters of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist, and has earned both a Masters degree and a Doctorate of Theology in Missiology from the University of South Africa. Although the Cape Fear Inter-coastal Waterway region of North Carolina is a far cry from Africa, India and Thailand Pruitt feels right at home with the members of Shoreline.

 

As a former professor for Liberty University (online) and Truett-McConnell University, and active online professor for North Greenville, Dr. Pruitt enjoys teaching but feels motivated and inspired when able to interact with the member audience of his new church home. Although he has led many churches throughout North/South Carolina and Georgia, the new Pastor is especially excited about many opportunities here in Southport.

 

Pastor Ed has been married to his wife Debi since October 1971. An accomplished business woman with an Interior Design firm formerly in Raleigh, Mrs. Pruitt is also an author and missionary who directed women’s ministries at several universities and in 20 plus countries. Dr. and Mrs. Pruitt have two sons, Byron and Mitchell, and five grandchildren, Jacob, Samantha, Dylan, Chelsea, and Caleb. Pastor Ed says of their new home on Oak Island “What more can I ask. I wake up to serve the Lord and a loving congregation with the river behind me and the ocean in front of me!”
